Majority of women will experience vaginal dryness. The causes can be anything from low estrogen levels to outside factors such as chemotherapy and use of certain contraceptives. Taking antihistamines or decongestants and washing with certain soaps may also interfere with your vaginal moisture levels.

The most common reasons are direct results of lowered estrogen levels. This occurs when the body is experiencing fatigue or stress, during pregnancy or following childbirth, and when a woman enters perimenopause or menopause. Nursing, menstrual cycle changes, and rigorous exercise also may contribute to reduced levels of estrogen.

Ultra Glide Personal Lubricant is water-based, water-soluble, and pH balanced to match the body’s natural fluids. This minimizes the chance of growth of certain harmful microorganisms, like yeast.

Conventional petroleum-based products, mineral oil or edible oil can adhere to the vaginal walls where they mask infections and provide a place for harmful organisms to multiply. They can also damage latex condoms rendering them ineffective for safe sex or birth control.
